Warriors of the Dream

The Warriors of the Dream project is aimed at forming a healing and transformative community of youth in Harlem through dialogue, recreation, the arts and mentorship. All youth from elementary school to high school are welcome.

Ecclesia Ministry

A coalition of churches, of which St. Philip's is one, conducts amonthly outdoor worship service in Marcus Garvey Park located on Madison between E 120 and 124 Streets. The host church makes and serves lunch for distribution after service in the park.


Outreach

Ecclesia Ministry @ Marcus Garvey Park: - Madison Avenue @ E 120 Street to 124 Street. Dates for St. Philips are every third Sunday of the month. Prior to the day, parishioners are asked to contribute lunch items - cold cuts/bread/individual packaged drinks/condiments.

Acolytes

Acoytes assist the priest on the altar and ensure the orderly and smooth progression of worship.

Sunday School:

Children five to eighteen years old are taught Christian theology based on The Book of Common Prayer and The Bible.

Women's Ministry

Fosters togetherness through worship, hospitality and fundraising for the betterment of the church and the community-at-large..

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild are lay persons entrusted with the responsibility of preparing the altar for all services and of caring for the communion vessels and elements for Holy Communion.

Daughters of the King

An Episcopalian ministry that promotes faith in Christ’s kingdom through service, prayer, and evangelism.

Cultural Committee

Offers and supports activities that foster, communication, education, and cultural exchange and provides enrichment and involvement for St. Philip’s congregation and our Harlem community.

Candace Organization

This organization fosters spiritual growth through service oriented activities within the church and the community-at-large. They also have a collection of toiletries for the month of May

Flower Guild

For the beautification of our sanctuary with plants and flowers.

Greeters Ministry

Welcomes visitors and educates interested persons about the history of the church, schedule, and activities.

Health Ministry Team

Promotes health and wellness for parishioners, through health education and illness prevention programs. Provides monthly hypertension monitoring for parishioners, visitors, and community-at-large.

Integrity Ministry

A local partner of Integrity USA, the Episcopal Church’s ministry by and for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) and those who love them.

Lay Eucharist Ministry

The Diocese of New York license lay Eucharistic ministers. LEM are elected by Rector or priest-in-charge.

Ushers Guild

Ushers serve by receiving members and visitors to worship on Sundays, feast, fast days, funerals, and weddings.

Young Adult Ministry

Young adults gather together for worship, education, social events, and outreach.

St. Philip's Jazztree

Promotes the preservation of African-Americans’' contribution to an array of musical genres jazz, blues, and Afro-Cuban rhythms.

Senator Chuck Allen III Scholarship Fund

Established in 2008 in memory of the public service and parish activism of Chuck Allen, the Senator Chuck Allen III Scholarship annually distributes monies to high school seniors of color who desire to study accounting, law, political or urban studies or work in public management. Students must have a proven record of leadership and community activism as well as financial need. Students will be required to write a 1,000 word topic essay chosen by the selection committee.
